My husband found this picture of me taken on his phone before my gall bladder surgery. This is me 50 pounds overweight and sick. Ever since my surgery on April 15th, 2011, I have set out to reclaim my health and fitness. I have lost 40 pounds since then. I am now 10 pounds within my goal weight. I have hit several plateaus but have not yo-yoed in my weight. I determined to change my habits and to lose the weight slowly through clean eating and exercise (at least 300 minutes/week of a combination of weight training, cardio and pilates/yoga exercises).
So it may take me another 4 months to lose the last 10 pounds…who knows I may shoot for another 10 pounds once I get to my goal weight :)

Studies of adults have found that when men and women are followed for three decades, people tended to put on more weight if their same-sex friends were overweight or obese. This is the power of the social network. It’s viral. The people you live, play and work with can indeed exert a powerful influence on your lifestyle habits.Dr. Pam Peeke

Be aware that in losing significant weight, some people in your life will not be able to celebrate or encourage your progress or success and that’s ok. Don’t let envy’s silence sabotage your progress and renewed confidence.reclaimingfitness.tumblr.com(Source: reclaimingfitness)
