Does the bathroom scale reading determine a healthy weight? No. It is not the amount of weight you lose that is the most important measure of well-being but rather the kind of weight you lose. If you gain 2 pounds of lean muscle mass and lose 2 pounds of body fat, your scale weight will not have changed, but you will be in better shape. Your goal is to lose body fat and gain, maintain and/or restore lean muscle mass.
